What You Need to Know About Pre-k Registration

ESM is proud to offer free pre-kindergarten programs for children ages 1 through 4 residing in the district.

4-year-olds: ESM provides free half-day and full-day pre-k programs for 4-year-olds. To be eligible for the 2025-26 school year, children must:

• Be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2025;
• Reside within the ESM school district; and
• Have all required immunizations.

Full-Day Pre-k (4-year-olds): There are limited openings in the full-day program. If applications exceed available spots, a random lottery will determine placement. Registration must be completed by Friday, April 4, 2025 to be included in the full-day lottery. Children not selected will automatically be enrolled in the half-day program. After that date, check to see if there are still openings or to get on the wait list. 

Half-Day Pre-k (4-year-olds): Morning and afternoon half-day options are available for families who prefer this schedule.

Programs for Ages 1-3: Families with children ages 1, 2, or 3 will receive applications via mail if their child is on the census list. To confirm or add a child to the census, contact Maureen Burlingame at registration@esmschools.org or 315-434-3011. Enrollment is limited, so applications should be submitted promptly.
