ESM Updates Plan to Increase In-Person LearningOur ESM Reopening of School Plan — Stronger Together was amended and approved by the Board of Education on April 19, 2021 to increase in-person learning, which includes Pine Grove and the high school starting in-person learning 4 days a week, with Wednesday still being remote for all learners. FULL PLAN with amendments approved April 19, 2021 to increase in-person learning
The April 2021 amendments to ESM’s Reopening Plan include the approved guidance from the New York State Department of Health and were developed with District stakeholders. Students and staff will continue to wear face masks, regularly wash and sanitize hands, and practice social distancing during the school day. Students should continue to bring their charged Chromebook and a completed screening pass with them to school every day. If a child runs out of passes, a new pad of ESM Central School District Daily Screening Passes will be provided from the main office. The ESM Transportation Department will be in contact with families that requested busing.
The original plan was developed by a District Advisory Committee of more than 150 stakeholders who shared their time, expertise and perspectives. More than 7,000 students, parents and staff members provided feedback and input through multiple surveys/questionnaires conducted in June and July. The plan recognizes the need for flexibility to address circumstances likely to change in the weeks, months and year ahead.
