Philosophy of Education: My philosophy of education is based on my numerous years as an elementary school teacher, a corporate trainer and a human resources manager.

I believe that education is a life-long learning process. The components of a successful education are an environment where the following principles thrive: Encouragement, Discovery, Understanding, Curiosity, Activity, Togetherness, Input, Organization and Nurturing.

An education can only be successful when the student is encouraged to be the best they can be, where discovery is cheered, where a full understanding of the student’s capabilities is revealed, where curiosity is consistently encouraged, where activity is evident in the environment, where togetherness allows for collaboration and new ideas, where input from all students is welcomed, where opportunity spawns new visions, and where nurturing provides for successful development.

At East Syracuse Minoa schools, I have seen these components in action. I would like to continue to work with the school district, as a member of the board, to ensure this kind of education continues.
