Dear New Friend,
Mrs. Stensland and Miss Mott are hoping
you are having a fun and safe summer with your family! We are busy getting ready for our school year together! We can't wait to meet you on September 6th for Orientation and to see you again on September 7th for the First Day of School!
We will have Table Toy time, Morning Meeting, Choice time, Centers, Snack and Lunch, Quiet Time and of course Playground or Gym. We also have a Library and a Makerspace too! We hope you are exctied as we are! There will be 17 other friends in our classroom to play with and share toys with.
Dear Room A12 Family,
The beginning of the school year can be overwhelming! So many things to remember, papers to fill out and things to purchase. Please use the following as a guide for getting your child ready!
1. Purchase School Supplies (see below for list)
2. Gather a change of Clothing to keep at school and label your child´s backpack and jacket
3. Email me a current photo of your child by September 1st (dstensland@esmschools.org)
4. Talk to your child about bathrooming/handwashing and have them practice zipping and unzipping the large pocket of their backpack.
Please email me with questions or concerns. It is important to me that you feel ready for school too! And if any of these supplies are a hardship for your family, I would like to know that as well and we can work something out.

A One subject notebook for journaling
"Keep at home supplies" - scissors, crayons, play dough. I would like you to have these three items at home for further practice and creativity! Fine motor work is so important! Here is a play dough recipe if you'd like to make your own!
*Since we will be having Quiet Time daily, I would like each student to have a towel to leave at school. We will use a yoga mat to define your child´s space on the floor for them to rest. The towels will be sent home biweekly for cleaning.
To make your student as independent as possible and so that you receive your items back home, please plan to label everything, including all outerwear, such as jackets, boots, hats and mittens.
We use Parent Square for all communication. Please download the app and plan to check it daily. I send a post almost weekly and will set up a class calendar for us. Messaging on the app is the best way to reach me, but if you prefer email, here is my address: dstensland@esmschools.org I also check this daily.
