21st Century Learning

All children in America need 21st century knowledge and skills to become effective citizens, workers and leaders in the 21st century. ESM's vision and mission embrace 21st century learning. Our five-year strategic plan strives for it.

To help students successfully face rigorous higher education coursework, career challenges and a globally competitive workforce, ESM is aligning classrooms with real world environments by integrating 21st century skills including the 4 Cs of critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.

The District has embraced the work of an organization called the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. This is the leading advocacy organization focused on infusing 21st century skills into education.
