WELCOME

Welcome to Mrs. Frasier's 1st Grade!
September flew by! We have already learned so much. This month will be just as busy. On Monday, October 20th our class is going to Crouse Hospital's "Hospital Land". There, we will learn how to keep ourselves healthy and what happens when someone goes to the hospital. We also have our Halloween celebration and parade on October 31st. Check back soon for pictures!
In October we are : -learning to copy, extend and create pattenrs - displaying data on a pictograph -writing complete sentences with capitalization and punctuation -writing letters to our penpals -reading, writing and spelling words with Short a, i and o patterns -discussing the characters and main ideas in the stories that we read -learning about and practicing healthy habits -describing properties of matter -exploring neighborhoods -discussing roles in families -practicing school rules -being good listeners

Some Helpful Reminders: -check your child's backpack daily for homework or notes -send a healthy snack to school with your child every day -have your child wear sneakers on gym days -let your child see you enjoy reading (Parents who enjoy reading, have children who enjoy reading!)
