Shooting Stars Room

Welcome to the Shooting Stars Classroom!  We are an inclusive classroom with an emphasis on the deaf and hearing impaired child included with the PreK children at Park Hill.  New as of last year, our AM session has 3-year-old students and our PM session has 4-year-old students.  Some of the students in our morning session have hearing aids or cochlear implants.  We use total communication (sign language) to add a visual support for our students with hearing loss.  We also use some sign language during the PM session.  Most children enjoy learning sign language!  In both  the AM and PM sessions, there is an emphasis on listening, which is essential for all preschoolers. The teachers include Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Streeter and Mrs. Elliott (Speech Therapist).  Mrs. Solivar, Mrs. Hazen and Mrs. Farnett help students with their small and large motor needs.
