Parents

Parent Involvement

Parents are the most important teachers of their children, and the Pre-K staff and parents work together for the benefit of the children. Early education and parent involvement in school activities have an important positive effect on the child's school performance. Visits of the teachers to the home of four-year olds and parents to the school are an integral part of the Pre-K program. Classrooms are always open for parent visits. Monthly newsletters form the teachers to the parents keep parents informed about classroom activities.

The Parent Educators plan parent meetings that are concerned with child development and parenting issues.

Parents may join the Parent Teacher Organization which meets once a month to discuss issues pertinent to the Pre-K program.

Parent Participation

We invite you as parents to participate in the Pre-kindergarten program so that you can see what your child learns through active play experiences. When visiting the school, you must stop at the Pre-K office to sign in.

You are welcome to participate in the following ways:

  • Join the Parent Teacher Organization
  • Attend school functions
  • Visit the classroom to read a story; share a hobby, talent, or your job; or work with small groups of children (4 year olds)
  • Go on a field trip
  • Attend parent conferences
