D.A.R.E.

 D.A.R.E. -  Drug Abuse Resistance Education 
 
All students in grade 5 participate in the Dare program presented by The Town of Manlius Police Department. A police officer visits the classrooms once a week to educate the children about the dangers of  drugs and alcohol. In Dare class students learn why drugs and alcohol are bad for the human body.  The students learn what the consequences are if they choose to take drugs. This program encourages students to say NO to drugs. Students also learn about drugs that are used to cure illnesses, realizing the differences between helpful and harmful drugs.  At the end of the Dare program the students graduate and receive a Dare T-shirt.
