Rafe Martin's Author Visit
  |
The Fremont PTO sponsored the internationally recognized, award-winning author and storyteller, Rafe Martin, who presented three 45 minute presentations and visited with the students. An autographed book, The Boy who Loved Mammoths, was given to each child. Each teacher was presented with the audio tape, "Rafe Martin Tells his Children's Books", so the students would be prepared for his visit. During library skills classes, the author's biography was read and questions were prepared for the question and answer period after the presentations.
The Library Media Center's glass display case reflected the many books Rafe Martin has written: The Monkey Bridge, Will's Mammoth, Mysterious Tales from Japan, Foolish Rabbit's Big Mistake, Rough-Faced Girl, The Boy who Lived with Seals, One hand Clapping, A Storyteller's Story, The Eagle's Gift.
