Betsy and Giulio Maestro's Author Visit

Giulio Maestro donated this illustration, along with four others, to Fremont school.
They now all hang in the library.

Betsy Maestro started writing books in 1974. Betsy and Giulio Maestro are best known for their nonfiction books. More than 70 books have been published by this author-illustrator team. Before becoming an author, Betsy was a kindergarten teacher, then a first grade teacher, then she wrote a series of books for the Lothrop Publishing Company.
Giulio Maestro creates great pictures that are colorful as well as in black and white. He graduated from Cooper Union in New York City. He also worked in advertising for five years. Now they are working on an American story series for Lothrop.
