September Updates

Dear E.S.E. Families,

I hope all of you have been enjoying this beautiful summer. We have been busy here at school preparing for an exciting opening. Many of you may have noticed construction in the front of the building. We now have an improved drainage system, a new security system including security cameras, paved paths out to the playground, and freshly painted hallways.
There have been a few staff changes I would like to bring to your attention. We want to welcome Ms. Meghan Frein our new Social Worker, Mrs. Kathy Adams our new nurse, and Kathy Farneth who will be working with our ESL students. We wish them all the very best in their new positions.
As the summer comes to an end, I want to remind all of you to fill out the Free/Reduced lunch application if you are interested in participating in the program. This application needs to be filled out every year. If you are using a child care provider before or after school, please be sure to complete the transportation request form. You will be receiving a post card from the transportation department next week giving you bus stop times and locations.
Finally I want to share with you that the district has adopted a new Health and Wellness Policy that will be put into effect this school year. Teachers, parents and administrators worked on this policy that promotes better nutrition and more physical activity during the school day. We are asking families to refrain from sending in treats for classroom parties or individual birthday celebrations. If your child wants to share something with classmates for a birthday celebration, we are suggesting a book that will be added to the classroom library. This new policy will address childhood obesity, overall fellness, and a new and heightened awareness for all of us. I want to thank you in advance for your support and understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call.
Enjoy your final days of summer and we will see you September 5th.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                Patricia S. Charboneau
