A Letter to Parents and Guardians of the Class of 2011

Dear Parents and Guardians:
The prom is just one of the major events that occurs during the junior year. The class officers, Ryan Dadey (president), Emily Bousquet (vice-president), Ben Loder (secretary), and Jackie Waltz (treasurer), have been hard at work with the junior class to plan these events. We would like to provide you with some more information regarding these events.
ESM Idol
ESM Idol is our major fundraiser for the 2009-2010 academic year. ESM Idol will be held on Friday, December 11th in the East-Syracuse Minoa High School auditorium. This event consists of student acts, which are judged and commented on by guest teachers in the style of American Idol. The event costs $5.00 per ticket and all proceeds benefit the junior class. We encourage all students to get involved. A general meeting for students will be held the first week of November.
The Prom
The prom will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2010 at East-Syracuse Minoa High School. The after-prom party will also be held on the premises. We will be holding a series of meetings to discuss and plan this event, and all juniors are invited to participate.
Delta Sonic Gift Cards
We are completing our first fundraiser for the year. Delta Sonic gift cards are being sold until October 14th. The cards are worth $5.00 each and are being sold for $3.00 a piece or 4-for-$10.00.
Yankee Candle
Juniors are invited to sell from their Yankee Candle catalogues from October 9th to October 30th. The information packets and catalogues were distributed to all juniors in an informational assembly that took place during homeroom on Thursday, October 8th. Sales must end on October 30th to ensure delivery in time for the holidays. Money will be collected in advance, and tax must be charged and collected.
Gertrude Hawk Chocolates
We currently have 20 carrier boxes available for juniors who are interested in selling these $1.00 candy bars off school premises. Proceeds benefit the junior class, and more boxes may be ordered.
We appreciate the hard work your children have been doing in support of their class. If you would like to volunteer to become involved in the after prom party, fundraising, or other events, please email us at estalloch@esmschools.org.
