Welcome to English as a Second Language
East Syracuse Minoa Central High School
A program designed for English Language Learners' Success
The primary goal of the ESL program is to meet the needs of our diverse second language learners while keeping to the rigorous standards set forth by both New York State and East Syracuse Minoa Central Schools.
All instruction is in English with curricular focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Different methods are used to meet the needs of the students' varying levels of language acquisition and academic skills. All English Language Learners are regularly evaluated and necessary program adjustments are made to ensure that graduation requirements are being met.
Students, parents and staff are encouraged to communicate through open dialogue to maintain a postive learning environment, promote tolerance and contibute to the growth of community.
