Course Requirements and Prequisites

Attendance

This is a three-credit course and daily attendance is mandatory. In order to earn all three credits you must meet the attendance requirements. Lates also add up to absences. You can find the attendance requirements in the Student Handbook.

Uniforms

All students will be issued one pair of chef's pants and one coat. These items are NOT to leave the classroom. Weekly laundering will be provided. If your uniform is ruined (torn, stained, lost, misshapen, unusable) you will be required to replace it. These are provided by the school, and should be treated like a text, gently used and returned in good repair at the end of the year, or upon dismissal from the program, whichever comes first. Students will be required to purchase their own hat, approximate cost will be $1.00 - $5.00. Hats are not reusable, so students will be permitted to keep them. All students are required to wear the uniform and closed toed shoes on cooking days (Day 2, 4). On non-cooking days students are required to follow the applicable school dress code.

Student Safety

All students are an essential component of this class and WILL be treated as such. Students will not be permitted to make slanderous remarks about other students, engage in mocking behavior, or be involved in physical fighting. Applicable school approved disciplinary procedures will be enforced if a student is involved in this type of behavior.
