Policies and Procedures
Lab Hours: 8:00 am to 3:30 pm: Monday and Friday
8:30 am to 4:10 pm: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Student Use During Study Halls
Students signing out of study hall to use the computer lab must:
- Request a passport signature from either Mrs. Wenner or Mrs. Brazil in B-2 (Open Lab); passes are issued for an entire block (80 minutes) or for the last 40 minutes of a block.
- Request signature before going to study hall (e.g. before school, during lunch, in between classes, etc.) so PLAN AHEAD!
- Do not ask classroom teachers for passes to computer lab to work on projects.
- Present their passport to the study hall teacher and sign-out on study hall sign-out sheet before coming to the computer lab.
- Remain in the computer lab for the entire block; if a student does not want or need to be in the lab for the entire block, he or she can sign-out of study hall for the second half of the block (last 40 minutes).
- Upon entering the lab, sign-in with signature and time of arrival. Signatures must be neat and easy to read.
If the computer lab is booked for a class or all computers are filled, Mrs. Wenner or Mrs. Brazill will direct students to alternate computer locations (e.g. Library, Career Center, etc.)
Proper Use of Computers
- Computer games and Instant Messaging are not allowed on school computers.
- Computers, printers, and scanners are to be used for legitimate educational purposes ONLY!
- Repeated violations of computer lab rules will result in progressive discipline, up to and including revocation of computer lab privileges.
Student Network Accounts
- Each student has his/her own personal network account. Students are encouraged to save all important files to this location.
- The student's user name and password may be obtained from Mrs. Wenner or Mrs. Brazill in B-2 or from the Library staff. Students are not allowed to changed user name, but are allowed to change password.
- For security reasons, it is imperative that students always log off their networks accounts after each use.
- Students are never to share their user name and password with anyone.
