  Clay 1 is for the beginner student in ceramics as art.  This mask, created by Allison Brennan is an example of a Clay 1 project.  



 

   Students in Clay I learn the basic skills involved in throwing on the potter's wheel and various hand building techniques.




                                                                        
   
   Students also learn about the firing process and finally, how to glaze their work.
