The ESM Automotive Technology Club will host its
Fourth Annual Spring Cruise-in/Car Show on June14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Central High School. The show will feature the
1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS that ESM automotive technology students are restoring and
raffling. The
pictures below show the 2007/08 class project. This is the third year that ESM automotive technology students have
raffled a car that provided a hands-on learning experience throughout the school year.
This year they are restoring a
1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS. The past two years students have built Shelby Cobra replicas from a kit
Proceeds will again be used for a project for the next school year (08-09). Graduating seniors also receive mechanics tools.
Each project has given students hands-on automotive experience and follows what a textbook teaches. The Camaro will be raffled to purchase a project car for 2008-2009 to keep the program self-sustaining.
This year we plan to team up with Right Coast Association (Right Coast Cars), to display our students work at the Syracuse Nationals July 18-20, 2008 .
