Thursday, May 01, 2008
Applications are being accepted for a 2008-09 carpentry project. The application deadline is June 1.
Click here for an application form.
Proposed projects must be located within the school district boundaries. ESM would like students to get experience with green and energy-saving building techniques.
The students do all the building except for the excavation/foundation, electric, and plumbing, which are subcontracted. Other than subcontracting, the homeowners pay for the cost of permits, materials, and supplies used to construct the home.
A Carpentry Project Selection Committee chooses the project. Applicants must be a taxpayer living in the school district, financially eligible, and have a manageable structure suiting the needs of the curriculum.
Applications may be for a new home or a renovation project. Those who are interested may contact Dr. Thomas Neveldine, at 434-3006 or East Syracuse-Minoa Central School District, Attn. Dr. Neveldine, 407 Fremont Rd., East Syracuse, NY 13057.
