Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations Due May 15

The East Syracuse-Minoa High School Athletic Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for its second class of inductees. Nominations are due May 15, 2008. Click here for a nomination form.

The 2nd Hall of Fame Class will be announced on August 1, 2008. The induction ceremony will be on Saturday, January 17, 2009.

The Hall of Fame was chartered to recognize the accomplishments of the inductees and to develop pride in ESM's rich athletic traditions.

People can be nominated in one of three categories: athlete, coach or distinguished service. Unsuccessful nominees will be considered for four additional years before a nomination needs to be re-submitted.

Candidate Criteria

1. Athletes must have graduated five years ago or more by June of the current year. Considerations include State champion, All-State, All-American, school record holder, multi-sport accomplishments, and good moral character.

2. Coaches must have retired five years ago or more by June of the current year. Considerations include years of service, number of seasons, number of sports, good moral character, and wins.

3. Distinguished Service to the Athletic Program nominees should have accomplishments that were completed five years ago or more by June of the current year.

In each category, an exception to the five-year timeframe will be made for posthumous candidates.
