BEFORE CLASS STARTS:

Always take to class with you:

• Homework
• Textbooks
• Notebooks, folders, paper
• Supplies (pencils, pens, rulers, etc.)
• Assignment notebook
• Glasses (If you wear them)

DURING CLASS:

Always do this during class

• Stay awake!! Be alert!!
• Listen and concentrate to what is being said by the teacher
• Follow directions
• Take good notes
• Don't be afraid to ask good questions
• Write down all homework assignments, scheduled tests, projects with due dates in your Homework notebook

AFTER CLASS:

Do your homework:

• Work at a quiet, well lit desk or table where you can concentrate on what you are doing.
• Choose a time when you are most alert (Not ten minutes before bedtime)
• Try to do your homework at the sametime each day.
• Keep your supplies in your study area
• Divide up difficult assignments into smaller parts
• Review past chunks of information each day (For example: multiplication facts)
• Keep all homework in a brightly colored and labeled folder so you don't leave it at home or let the dog eat it.
• Contact a homework buddy if you have any questions.

OUT SICK:

• Call a friend for notes and assignments as soon as you can.
• Be sure to check with your teacher when you return.
• Do whatever it takes to make up assignments (For example: stay after school)
