KEYS TO
SUCCESS
BEFORE CLASS
STARTS:
Always take to class with you:
- Homework
- Textbooks
- Notebooks, folders, paper
- Supplies (pencils, pens, rulers, etc.)
- Assignment notebook
- Glasses (If you wear them)
DURING CLASS:
Always do this during class
- Stay awake!! Be alert!!
- Listen and concentrate to what is being said by the
teacher
- Follow directions
- Take good notes
- Don't be afraid to ask good questions
- Write down all homework assignments, scheduled tests, projects
with due dates in your Homework notebook

AFTER CLASS:
Do your homework:
- Work at a quiet, well lit desk or table where you can
concentrate on what you are doing.
- Choose a time when you are most alert (Not ten minutes before
bedtime)
- Try to do your homework at the sametime each day.
- Keep your supplies in your study area
- Divide up difficult assignments into smaller parts
- Review past chunks of information each day (For example:
multiplication facts)
- Keep all homework in a brightly colored and labeled folder so
you don't leave it at home or let the dog eat it.
- Contact a homework buddy if you have any questions.
OUT SICK:
- Call a friend for notes and assignments as soon as you
can.
- Be sure to check with your teacher when you return.
- Do whatever it takes to make up assignments (For example: stay
after school)
